Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company is launching podcasts that the former president says will hopefully “bring us all a little closer together,” Spotify announced Thursday.
Higher Ground will develop and produce podcasts exclusively for Spotify under a multiyear agreement, the streaming company said, adding that the Obamas will lend their voices to the productions.
{mosads}”We’ve always believed in the value of entertaining, thought-provoking conversation,” the former president said in a statement. “It helps us build connections with each other and open ourselves up to new ideas.”
Higher Ground, which the former first couple founded last year, was created with an aim of lifting up diverse voices. The company launched last year with an initial partnership with Netflix.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to amplify voices that are too often ignored or silenced altogether, and through Spotify, we can share those stories with the world,” Michelle Obama said in the statement.
