Meghan McCain praises ‘brilliant troll’ move of projecting image of USS John McCain during Trump UK visit

Conservative commentator and “The View” co-host Meghan McCain on Wednesday praised U.K. protesters for projecting an image of a USS John S. McCain cap during President Trump’s visit, calling the move “such a brilliant troll.”

McCain, while discussing Trump’s three-day trip to Great Britain for his first official state visit there, applauded the creative move against Trump, a vocal critic of her father, the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), and elaborated on how much she and her mother Cindy McCain enjoyed it.

{mosads}“Its very entertaining the way British people troll, and they do it so much better than we do,” McCain said as she showed the audience the image of the projection.

“I love this so much,” she said as the crowd cheered. “If you don’t want Trump to go anywhere, in your house or in your event, just project a picture of this hat and he won’t go there!”

The projection, organized by an activist group, showed a red baseball cap featuring the USS John S. McCain projected on the outside of famed wax museum Madame Tussauds in London.

It was the latest dig at Trump over his long-running feud with John McCain. It comes less than a week after The Wall Street Journal reported that White House officials asked the U.S. Navy to obscure the warship while Trump visited troops stationed in Japan.

Trump said he “didn’t know anything about” the move to hide the ship during his visit and denied any involvement with the decision while adding that it was “well-meaning.”

McCain also said she enjoyed British protesters projecting an image comparing Trump’s low approval numbers to those of former President Obama.
