Biden to sit with ’60 Minutes’ amid crisis in Israel, Gaza
President Biden will sit for an interview with “60 Minutes” this weekend amid growing violence in the Middle East and Europe.
News of the interview was confirmed by Wendy McMahon, president and CEO of CBS News, during an interview at an Axios event Thursday.
The network, in a social media post promoting the planned sit down, said the interview would take place at the White House and be conducted by correspondent Scott Pelley and focus on “the situations in Israel, Gaza, and Ukraine.”
Biden last sat for an interview with CBS’s flagship weekly news and feature program last fall, when he spoke on inflation, the war in Ukraine and confirmed he intended to seek a second term in the White House.
Biden pledged support of Israel after the country suffered a deadly attack this week at the hands of militant group Hamas, which the U.S. has designated as a terrorist organization.
