Conservative radio host relocates after he says he received death threat
Conservative radio host Michael Savage says he has “changed location” and is taking a specific death threat “very seriously” after a restaurant he frequents received an email with a mass shooting threat if it allowed the syndicated talk radio host to ever eat there again.
The Washington Times obtained the threatening email that has since been provided to city, state and federal authorities.
{mosads}”I DEMAND THAT YOU REFUSE TO ALLOW MICHAEL … IN YOUR F—ING RESTAURANT AGAIN,” reads the all-caps email published Wednesday by the Times. “HE IS A RACIST WHITE SUPREMACIST PIECE OF S—T.”
“I OWN 3 GUNS AND I CAN DO SOME SERIOUS F—ING DAMAGE. I WILL KILL AS MANY OF YOU RACIST-SUPPORTING/ENABLING WHITE SUPREMACISTS AS I F—ING CAN,” it also added.
Savage told the Times that he’s become used to receiving death threats, but felt the tone and specificity of this threat warranted investigation by authorities.
He also said he “changed location” but didn’t elaborate further.
“Over the years, I have received many threats and have chosen to ignore them,” said Savage on Wednesday. “However, given the violent, vile times we are living in and the specific nature of this threat, both I and some serious agencies are taking this threat very seriously.”
Savage’s radio career began 25 years ago at KGO, a San Francisco-based talk radio station.
He has become the center of several controversies during his radio career, including one instance that got him taken temporarily off the air on WABC in New York after a 2016 segment on “Hillary Clinton’s delicate health” that included a suggestion she may have Parkinson’s disease.
Savage is also the author of 25 books and four New York Times best-sellers.
