Conservatives protest dubbing ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ as ‘seriously problematic’
HuffPost is facing blowback from conservatives including Donald Trump Jr. after the progressive publication reported the classic Christmas cartoon, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” is being decreed “seriously problematic” due to what some see as a cartoon featuring bullying and sexism.

{mosads}“Viewers are noticing the tale may not be so jolly after all,” reads the video text in the HuffPost tweet to its 11.4 million followers. “And they’re sharing their observations online.”
Some social media users highlighted by HuffPost argue Rudolph’s father verbally abuses him for making him wear a fake nose in order to gain acceptance.
Others note that Rudolph’s coach and other reindeer “laugh and call [Rudolph] names” for having a red nose while preventing him from playing in any reindeer games.
In terms of sexism, readers point out a scene when Rudolph’s mom wants to join reindeer husband Donner to search for their son after he runs away and goes missing.
“No, this is man’s work,” Donner replies in the iconic movie.
Conservatives, including Fox’s Tomi Lahren, Ben Shapiro and commentator Jesse Kelly, who was recently reinstated to Twitter after a controversial suspension, had a field day on Twitter mocking the complaints around the cartoon movie.

2018: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is problematic.
2019: Celebrating holidays is problematic because of capitalism.
2020: Not finding things problematic is problematic.

I feel sorry for future generations. The Left is conditioning you to be fragile, weak and triggered by everything. A Christmas movie is emotionally damaging but telling a 6 year old he should be gender fluid isn’t? Sick people. https://t.co/BWerbv77tQ

Glad somebody is FINALLY pointing out the bigotry of this hateful tale. I mean, one of the reindeer is even named ‘Blitzen’. Hitler famously used the ‘BLITZkrieg’ battle strategy. Coincidence? I think not. https://t.co/80zPlS4Pmv

The whole point of Rudolph is that people were mean to him, he rose above it and thrived. Huff Post thinks it’s uncovered some dark historical example of “bigotry” by pointing out people were rude to Rudolph. Yes, that’s the ENTIRE point of the frigging story, you absolute melts.

Rudolph was CBS’s most-watched program on Tuesday, delivering 8.14 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. The airing marked the movie’s 54th year on the network.
