Former WSJ chief Baker to launch program on Fox Business

Former Wall Street Journal Editor-in-Chief Gerry Baker has been awarded his own weekly program on Fox Business, according to a Monday announcement.

Starting on November 30, “WSJ At Large With Gerry Baker” will air each Friday at 9:30 p.m., splitting the hour with Maria Bartiromo’s “Wall Street.”

The program will feature interviews with industry leaders who impact Wall Street, politics and business in the country.

{mosads}“We’ve assembled the best team in business news and we’re excited to add Gerry to the roster,” said Fox Business president Brian Jones. “The combination of Bartiromo and Baker will make the 9 p.m. hour one of the most informative and comprehensive in cable news.”

The 9 p.m. hour on the network is currently occupied by “Kennedy,” which airs Monday through Thursday nights. 

“I’m thrilled to be starting this new venture at FBN,” said Baker in a statement. “I look forward to the opportunity to explore in depth with some of the finest minds in the world each week the issues and trends that are defining our modern world.”

Baker was the Journal’s editor-in-chief from March 2013 to June 2018 before stepping down and transitioning to the editor-at-large capacity. 

He has worked in broadcast news before, having started his career with the BBC as a producer, and has been a frequent guest on Fox Business and Fox News for years.

In 2015, Baker co-moderated a Republican primary debate with Bartiromo and Neil Cavuto to become the first Briton to moderate a U.S. presidential debate.
