Fox News retiring doorbell sound from debate

Fox News is doing away with the doorbell sound it used during debates to signal when a candidate’s time speaking is up.

The change, which comes just days before the first Republican primary debate, was reportedly prompted by a series of complaints from dog owners who said the noise bothered their pets, Politico first reported.

The network confirmed the change to The Hill on Friday.

The first debate, slated for Wednesday in Milwaukee, will be hosted by Fox News and the Republican National Committee and moderated by network anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

Former President Trump, the GOP front-runner, has so far not committed to participating in the event, citing his large lead in most primary polls and what he has described as a “hostile” relationship with the network.
