Shapiro criticizes conspiracy theories about bomb threats to Dems
Conservative writer Ben Shapiro slammed the idea that Democrats are behind the improvised explosive devices that were intercepted on their way to prominent progressive political figures.
“If your first reaction to some evil person sending bombs to a variety of politicians on one side of the aisle is ‘FALSE FLAG,’ you are officially deranged,” Shapiro tweeted.

The Secret Service reported Wednesday that it had intercepted two explosive devices on their way to former President Obama and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s residences.
CNN also received an improvised explosive, which was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan.
{mosads}Authorities also intercepted packages addressed to Eric Holder and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.).
Some conservative pundits have voiced their belief that the devices may have been sent by someone on the left as a political stunt.
Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday on his radio show that it could be a “Democratic operative” who mailed the packages.
“Republicans just don’t do this kind of thing,” Limbaugh said.
He was joined by a number of others who called the events of Wednesday morning a “false flag,” a hoax for political gain.
Republican lawmakers and President Trump have condemned the attempted attacks.
“We are extremely angry, upset, unhappy about what we witnessed this morning and we will get to the bottom of it,” Trump said, calling the attempted bombings “abhorrent.”
“In these times, we have to unify,” he said. “We have to come together and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message that acts or threats of political violence of any kind have no place in the United States of America.”
