Fox News wrote in a memo sent Wednesday that it condemns “all attempted acts of violence against media organizations,” adding its support for CNN “for the safety of all of their employees” after a suspicious package forced the network’s New York offices to evacuate earlier that day.

“We wanted to take this opportunity to inform you that Fox News is taking ample precautions on the security front in our New York headquarters given the suspicious package found at CNN this morning,” wrote Kevin Lord, Fox News Executive Vice President of Human Resources in a memo sent Wednesday afternoon.

{mosads}”We condemn all attempted acts of violence against media organizations and our thoughts are with CNN for the safety of all of their employees.”

Lord added that the network has met with its security team and was treating the situation “with extra vigilance.”

“All of the usual security protocols are already in place, some of which include roving patrols around the perimeter of the building, along with every incoming package being x-rayed and screened, which is a precaution taken by our mailroom on a daily basis.”

On Wednesday morning, CNN quickly cut out of a live broadcast out of its New York City studios, which are housed in the Time Warner Center, after an alarm went off amid the evacuation. Police were called to the building to investigate a suspicious package that forced employees from CNN and other companies to evacuate.

Anchors Poppy Harlow and Jim Sciutto later continued to broadcast from the street on their cell phones after being evacuated from the studio.

The network later reported that a suspicious package mailed to its offices had been addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan.
