Sales of Omarosa book surged after Trump attacks

The tell-all memoir from Omarosa Manigault Newman topped The New York Times best seller list this week, spurred on by publicity surrounding her media blitz and President Trump’s attacks on the former White House aide.

“Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House ” came out at No. 1 on both the Times’ print hardcover the combined list for print and e-book sales, CNN reported on Wednesday.

The Washington Post noted that the book sold 33,000 hardcover copies in its first week, writing that the “tweeter-in-chief” had done it again.

Trump attacks on author Michael Woff’s “Fire and Fury” earlier this year turned that book into a bestseller and national sensation, and the same formula appears to be working with the tell-all penned by one of the first contestant-stars of “The Apprentice.”

Manigualt Newsman’s book started climbing on Amazon’s chart after Trump called her a “dog” earlier this month and labeled her “Wacky Omarosa.”

The book jumped from No. 17 spot on Amazon’s constantly updating lost to No. 2 after Trump tweeted about the book and his attorneys threatened the publisher, CNN reported.

Publisher Simon & Schuster said Wednesday it was “delighted that readers have responded enthusiastically,” the outlet noted.

Not every bestselling book by Trump has been critical of the president.

Trump also posed for photos with Fox New host Jeanine Pirro and her new book, “Liars, Leakers and Liberals: The Case Against the Anti-Trump Conspiracy,” in the Oval Office.

That book also debuted at No. 1 on The Times list.
