Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano praised President Trump on Tuesday, saying he looked “more presidential this morning than I have ever seen him look” during his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore.
“You can’t get everything. You can’t get everything all at once. We were talking during the break, I could not agree with Sean Hannity more,” said Napolitano on “Fox & Friends.”
“Donald Trump looked more presidential this morning than I have ever seen him look. This may very well be transformative for him as a person and for the office that he occupies,” the former New Jersey Superior Court judge added.
{mosads}The commentary came after Trump and Kim signed an agreement earlier Tuesday committing the U.S. to unspecified “security guarantees” in exchange for an eventual denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
“I think our whole relationship with North Korea and the Korean peninsula is going to be a very different situation than it has in the past,” Trump said during Tuesday’s signing ceremony.
“We’ve developed a very special bond,” he added, referring to Kim.
Democrats slammed Trump for making the agreement while accusing him of elevating North Korea in his “haste” in striking a deal.
“In his haste to reach an agreement, President Trump elevated North Korea to the level of the United States while preserving the regime’s status quo,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said in a statement.
“It is worrisome, very worrisome that this joint statement is so imprecise. What the US has gained is vague and unverifiable at best. What North Korea has gained however is tangible and lasting … We’ve legitimized a brutal dictator who’s starved his own people,” Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said on the Senate floor Tuesday.
