Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said Tuesday that “Fox News is always trying to impeach” her despite her loss in the 2016 election.
“Fox News is always trying to impeach me, so somebody needs to tell them that doesn’t apply to a private citizen,” Clinton joked during a Wing workspace panel discussion in New York, as first reported by The Wrap.
“When you’ve been accused of everything like I have, and you realize some people believe it, it’s really depressing,” she added.

“I’ve really been admiring the staying power of the resistance because it’s hard when you are fighting on so many fronts,” she said to an audience of women.
“But I would hope that we can change the political culture,” Clinton continued. “Because I don’t want anybody going through that. I don’t care who you are. I don’t care how much I agree or disagree with you. To be lied about persistently, to be vilified is very harmful,” she said.
The Wing is a women-only co-working space with more than 1,500 members that launched in 2016.
The former first lady also said that sexism plays a considerable role in society and politics.
“Part of what we have to come to grips with is the role that sexism plays with our society and certainly our politics,” she argued.
Clinton won the popular vote by more than 3 million votes but lost the Electoral College to Trump, 304-232, on Nov. 8, 2016.
She caused some consternation among her own party with comments last month about the election, including saying that she won in parts of the country that are “moving forward,” whereas Trump won in places that are “looking backward.”
