Fox’s Hegseth: UN has become an ‘Anti-American, Anti-Israeli, Anti-Semitic Cesspool’

“Fox & Friends Weekend” host Pete Hegseth called the United Nations an “anti-American, anti-Israeli, anti-Semitic cesspool” on the network Friday following an overwhelming rebuke of President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The commentary comes following the U.N.’s 128–9 vote on Thursday condemning the U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, which included opposition from American allies like the U.K., France, Germany and Japan. Thirty-five countries abstained from voting.

“It’s a demonstration of what the U.N. has become, which is nothing but an anti-American, anti-Israeli, anti-Semitic cesspool,” said Hegseth, a former Navy Seal. “It really is. It used to have a function that served our interest. Now it only serves for other countries to condemn us and the West. I don’t see — I know we need to have a seat at the table, but it rarely serves us and we should look to draw back.”{mosads}

“Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade later asked if the U.S. should take some of the money it provides to the U.N. back or do something besides “take names” as Haley promised to do in terms of tracking countries voting against the U.S. decision.

“I think we should pull out of the U.N. And form our own league of democracies of like-minded countries and work together,” Hegseth replied.

“To your point about politics, it looks like President Trump is standing up against those bullies,” co-host Steve Doocy injected.

“Do something substantial. Not just say it,” Kilmeade added.

“Let them vote against us. We will save a lot. We don’t care,” co-host Ainsley Earhardt concurred, echoing comment Trump himself made.

“Amen, he speaks for a lot of Americans,” Hegseth concluded.

Late Thursday, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley Haley sent invitations to a January reception to the eight countries that voted “no” on the resolution, as well as the 35 countries that abstained from the vote and the 21 that did not cast a vote.

Allies including Canada, Mexico and Australia abstained.

Israel, Guatemala, Honduras, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Marshall Islands and Togo all supported the U.S. decision.
