Charlie Rose accused of sexual harassment by three CBS employees

Three CBS employees are accusing Charlie Rose of sexual harassment.

The new allegations come after Rose was fired from CBS News and PBS following a report in The Washington Post in which eight women accused Rose of sexual misconduct.

The three employees at CBS spoke on the condition of anonymity, according to the network.

One woman said Rose “groped her rear” and another woman said he “grabbed her inappropriately and whispered a sexual innuendo in her ear.”

“This is new information. Beyond that we have no comment at this time,” CBS News’s communication office said in a statement.

The employees did not file complaints with human resources, according to the network.

CBS News and PBS fired Rose on Tuesday after he was accused of sexual misconduct by eight women.

Rose, who co-hosted “CBS This Morning,” was accused of making unwanted sexual advances ranging from making lewd suggestions during phone calls to walking naked in front of women and groping their breasts or genital areas, according to the Washington Post report. 

The initial accusations, which centered around behavior at Rose’s PBS program, “Charlie Rose,” dated from the late 1990s to as recently as 2011.

CBS News said in its report Wednesday that Rose’s sexual misconduct continued after 2011.

In a statement earlier this week, Rose said he had “behaved insensitively” at times. He added that some of the allegations, though, weren’t accurate.

The accusations come amid a wave of sexual harassment allegations in the White House press corps and at broadcast networks.
