Colbert jokes about North Korea’s ‘old lunatic’ attack on Trump

Stephen Colbert jabbed President Trump for his response after North Korean state media referred to him as an “old lunatic.”

“North Korea called him an old lunatic and his response was, ‘What do you mean old? I’m young. I’m crazy,'” Colbert said during his late-night show.

His comments come after North Korea state media last week said “reckless remarks by an old lunatic like Trump will never scare us or stop our advance.”

{mosads}Trump responded, tweeting: “Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me ‘old,’ when I would NEVER call him ‘short and fat?’ Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend – and maybe someday that will happen!”

Colbert said there was a “lot to unpack” from Trump’s “presidential tweet.”

The late-night host joked that Trump would be a “horrible hostage negotiator.”

“Listen, there’s no need to harm the hostages, you fat bald fatty,” Colbert said, imitating Trump.

“‘You know what, I dare you to kill him. I dare you to kill him and then eat him.'”

Trump and North Korea’s leader have engaged in heated rhetoric over the past several months as North Korea continues developing its nuclear program.

Trump has called Kim “Rocket Man” and Kim Jong Un has called Trump a “mentally deranged U.S. dotard,” a “gangster fond of playing with fire,” and “a frightened dog.”
