Scarborough: Destruction of GOP will be part of Trump’s legacy

Joe Scarborough on Wednesday slammed President Trump on Twitter, writing that the president is destroying the GOP.

“The destruction of the Republican Party will be part Trump’s political legacy, and the least damning,” he wrote.

With his comment, Scarborough retweeted a link to an NBC article analyzing how the GOP tax plan could widen the divides in the party.

Scarborough has been an increasingly harsh critic of the president over the last few months. In the past, The “Morning Joe” host and his co-host, Mika Brzezinski, frequently hosted Trump on their show.

But tensions between Trump and the duo escalated during the campaign and the early part of Trump’s presidency, culminating with the president making a personal attack on Brzezinski, tweeting that she was “bleeding badly from a face-lift” when she and Scarborough visited Mar-a-Lago.

Scarborough was formerly a GOP congressman from Florida and announced in July that he was leaving the Republican Party.
