A movie about alleged sexual misconduct by former Fox Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes in now officially in the works.
Los Angeles-based Annapurna Pictures has obtained an untitled pitch from writer Charles Randolph primarily focusing on Gretchen Carlson, Megyn Kelly and other women who have accused Ailes of sexual harassment.
{mosads}Randolph won an Oscar last year as one of the screenwriters for “The Big Short,” a film about traders who shorted markets during the 2008 financial crisis based on the book by Michael Lewis.
The studio is now actively searching for a director for the Ailes project.
Ailes resigned from Fox in July just two weeks after Carlson, a Fox afternoon host, accused him in a lawsuit of making unwanted sexual advances.
Kelly, one of the biggest stars on Fox, also accused Ailes of sexual misconduct during an internal investigation, which led to his quick resignation after leading the network for 20 years.
The production company Blumhouse is also working on a miniseries about Ailes and Fox based on the reporting of New York Magazine writer Gabriel Sherman, who also penned the unauthorized Ailes biography “The Loudest Voice in the Room.”
A network partner for the miniseries has not been decided upon. Blumhouse has only said it would be offered “to a select number of channels.”
