Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) is scheduled to hold a fundraiser with prominent white nationalist Nick Fuentes.

A flier from the Telegram channel “America First Updates” on Monday showed Gosar and Fuentes would be holding a fundraising event, Business Insider reported. Details on the time and location are set to be announced July 1, the outlet reported.

Gosar defended the event on Twitter after receiving backlash for teaming up with the controversial right-wing figure, who is known for his racist and antisemitic rhetoric.

Not sure why anyone is freaking out. I’ll say this: there are millions of Gen Z, Y and X conservatives. They believe in America First. They will not agree 100% on every issue. No group does. We will not let the left dictate our strategy, alliances and efforts. Ignore the left,” Gosar tweeted.

Fuentes, who has been banned on many social media platforms for his rhetoric, retweeted Gosar as well as others coming to the congressman’s defense.

The far-right commentator has cast doubt on the millions of deaths during the Holocaust. The FBI has referred to him as a white supremacist.

This is not the first time Gosar has teamed up with Fuentes.

Gosar spoke at the America First Political Action Conference in February, which was also hosted by Fuentes. Gosar later denounced “white racism” after his appearance at the event sparked backlash.

Many right-leaning figures denounced the Arizona congressman and condemned his affiliation with Fuentes over the upcoming fundraiser.

“America First does not mean Sieg Heil, but Gosar is willfully aligning with those who act like they think it does,” tweeted conservative blogger and radio host Erick Erickson.

“In which a sitting Republican member of Congress, @DrPaulGosar, refuses to criticize Holocaust denial, or to cancel or even regret his planned appearance with a well-known Holocaust denier,” political analyst Bill Kristol tweeted.

Former GOP Rep. Denver Riggleman (Va.) blasted the fundraiser, calling the move “dangerous.”

Delina DiSanto, Gosar’s Democratic challenger, also went after him for the event.
