Rep. Tom O’Halleran (D) has retained his House seat to represent Arizona’s 1st Congressional District.
The Associated Press called the race for O’Halleran a week after Election Day.
The congressman beat out GOP challenger Tiffany Shedd, who was looking to flip the seat and become the first Republican representative for the district since Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.). Gosar held the seat before redistricting, and he now represents Arizona’s 4th Congressional District.
O’Halleran was first elected to the House in 2016, replacing former Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D-Ariz.), and held onto his seat in the 2018 midterm elections.
