Trump urges Democrats to vote to censure Schiff
President Trump on Monday urged House Democrats to join Republicans in voting for a long-shot resolution to censure House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).
“Censure (at least) Corrupt Adam Schiff! After what he got caught doing, any pol who does not so vote cannot be honest….are you listening Dems?” Trump tweeted ahead of the planned Monday vote.

The censure resolution concerns Schiff’s misattribution of quotes to Trump in remarks about the president’s July call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which Schiff has said were intended as “parody,” and for claiming the committee had no prior contact with a whistleblower who filed a complaint concerning the call.
{mosads}The call with the Ukranian president is at the center of the House impeachment inquiry against Trump.
Trump’s tweet appeared to be prompted by a reference to the resolution on “Fox & Friends,” one of the president’s favorite shows; he often tweets about the topics being discussed on the program.
Trump has frequently blasted Schiff and called for him to be punished for the misquotes, which he has falsely claimed were illegal and “treason.”
Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), the chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, wrote to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) last Thursday asking her to delay the resolution until Monday following the death of House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.).
“Out of respect to him and his family, I instructed my staff to work with your staff, and the staff of the Minority Leader. I do not wish to intrude on the grief felt by his colleagues today by proceeding with a floor vote of my motion to censure Adam Schiff,” Biggs wrote Thursday following the announcement of Cummings’s death at 68.
