Ocasio-Cortez trashes Trump after he says he doesn’t have ‘a Racist bone in my body’

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) hit back at President Trump on Tuesday after he insisted he doesn’t “have a Racist bone in my body” amid criticism for his attacks toward her and three other progressive, Democratic congresswomen of color.

“You’re right, Mr. President – you don’t have a racist bone in your body,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “You have a racist mind in your head, and a racist heart in your chest.

“That’s why you violate the rights of children and tell the Congresswoman who represents your home borough, to ‘go back to my country,’” she added.

The exchange marks the latest in the ongoing feud between Trump and the four minority congresswomen known as “the squad.” Trump tweeted Sunday that Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D- Mich.) should “go back” and “help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came” before criticizing the U.S. government. {mosads}

All four of the freshman lawmakers are U.S. citizens, and only Omar was born abroad.

Trump’s remarks have sustained bipartisan backlash, and House Democrats proposed a resolution on Monday to condemn his comments as racist. The chamber plans to vote on the resolution later Tuesday.

Trump has stood by his comments, adding that the “so-called” vote on the resolution is a “Democrat con game,” urging Republicans to vote against the measure.
