Clinton praises Pelosi in Time 100 bio: Proof it often ‘takes a woman’ to get the job done
Hillary Clinton praised Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as “living proof” that it often “takes a woman” to get the job done while honoring her Wednesday for Time magazine’s annual “100 Most Influential People” list.
“There’s a saying that goes: ‘If you want something done, ask a busy woman to do it.’ Speaker Nancy Pelosi is living proof that when it comes to getting the job done, more often than not, it takes a woman,” the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee wrote.
Pelosi is among a record number of women who appear on this year’s edition of the Time 100 list, which was released Wednesday.{mosads}
Clinton, in the short profile for Pelosi, also praised her as the “driving force” behind Democrats regaining control of the House in the 2018 midterms and said Pelosi has “delivered” as Speaker.
“Under her leadership, Democrats passed the first major gun-safety bill in a generation and desperately needed voting-rights legislation,” Clinton wrote.
“As Democrats continue fighting to protect reproductive rights, pass paid family leave, protect Americans’ right to affordable health care and hold this Administration to account, Nancy is leading the charge,” she added.
