Maxine Waters to Trump: ‘Are you still in love with Kim?’

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) on Monday asked President Trump whether he was “still in love” with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un following a summit last week in which Trump and Kim did not reach an agreement on denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

“Lying Trump came away from fake summit with terrorist & killer Kim Jong-un w/ nothing because Kim never intended to offer anything,” Waters tweeted. “Don the con man got conned! Hey number 45, are you still in love w/ Kim?”
Trump last week met with Kim at a summit in Vietnam, but the meeting ended with no deal because North Korea wanted the U.S. to lift all sanctions on the country, Trump said at the time.

{mosads}“It was about the sanctions,” Trump said. “Basically, they wanted the sanctions lifted in their entirety, and we couldn’t do that. They were willing to denuke a large portion of the areas we wanted, but we couldn’t give up all of the sanctions for that.”

Waters’s remark, which came as part of a series of tweets criticizing Trump, was a reference to comments Trump made about Kim in September. Trump said at the time that he and Kim “fell in love.”

“He wrote me beautiful letters. And they’re great letters. We fell in love,” Trump said.

Trump and Waters have feuded often since the president took office.

The California lawmaker has called for Trump to be impeached and last year said her supporters should publicly confront members of the Trump administration.

Trump, meanwhile, has often mocked Waters, having repeatedly labeled her a “low IQ” individual and saying her “ranting and raving” would cost Democrats votes.
