Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) cast her vote for Nancy Pelosi as House Speaker on Thursday by shouting her signature catchphrase, “Reclaiming my time.”
Waters could be seen yelling her signature phrase in a video of the moment, captured by C-SPAN, that has since gone viral.
Other members of Congress could also be seen in the footage cheering and applauding after Waters shouted the phrase.
Waters’s catchphrase first captured headlines during a Financial Services Committee hearing with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin in 2017.
{mosads}During the hearing, Waters tore into Mnuchin for what she deemed to be inadequate responses to her questions. She frequently interrupted his explanations to save her time for the hearing, repeating the phrase “reclaiming my time.”
The exchange went viral and critics of Trump seized on Waters’ catchphrase.
