Ryan, McCarthy to raise cash in California
Speaker Paul Ryan will team up with Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy in early March for a multi-stop fundraising swing through California — Ryan’s first trip to the Golden State as Speaker, sources told The Hill.
The schedule isn’t locked down yet, but both Ryan (R-Wis.) and McCarthy (R-Calif.) are expected to travel up and down the state together during the four-day trip.
{mosads}The leadership duo will make at stops in Orange County, appearing alongside Foreign Affairs Chairman Ed Royce of Fullerton and freshman Rep. Mimi Walters, the former mayor of wealthy Laguna Niguel, sources said.
The California events will raise cash for Ryan-McCarthy Victory, a joint fundraising committee aimed at helping to reelect House Republicans.
During his first few months as Speaker, Ryan has raked in millions of dollars during fundraising swings through Texas, Florida and Illinois — not to mention the more than 30 events he’s done in D.C. when the House is in session.
