Van Taylor wins reelection to Texas seat held by GOP since 1968
Rep. Van Taylor (R) is projected to win reelection in Texas’s 3rd Congressional District, fending off Democrat Lulu Seikaly.
Taylor, a 48-year-old Marine Corps veteran and businessman, was first elected to the House in 2018 after former Rep. Sam Johnson (R) decided not to run for reelection. Republicans have held the seat since 1968.
The nonpartisan Cook Political Report rated the race as “leans Republican” ahead of Election Day.
