Who has endorsed Harris?

A number of Democratic lawmakers, governors and past leaders were quick to rally behind Vice President Harris as she pursues the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination following President Biden’s withdrawal from the race.

Shortly after dropping out of the presidential race, Biden endorsed Harris as his successor, stating it is “time to come together and beat” former President Trump.

Harris later said she was “honored” to receive Biden’s backing, and she intends to “earn and win this nomination.”

She has remained mum on her vice presidential pick, with several potnetial contenders already voicing their support for her campaign.

The Democratic Mayors Association also announced more than 250 mayors are backing Harris. Those in the group include New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Los Angeles Karen Bass, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, San Fransisco Mayor London Breed, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrel, Philadelphia Mayor Cherella Parker, Atlanta mayor Andrew Dickens and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu.

The New York Times reported on Monday that one senator (Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey) and nine representatives have yet to weigh in on Biden’s decision and whether they will support Harris.

Former President Obama has yet to publicly endorse her campaign.
