Former President Trump said Wednesday that Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is “trying to convince anyone that will listen that” President Biden “is a mental giant.”

“Crazy Nancy Pelosi is more of a cognitive mess than Sleepy Crooked Joe. She also suffers from a terminal case of TDS, Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Trump wrote Wednesday on Truth Social.

“She is a total nut job, who impeached me TWICE, and lost. Now I see her going around, barely, and saying that I am a threat to Democracy,” he added. “No, this is just Radical Left Democrat Disinformation, which is all that they’re good at. She’s trying to convince anyone that will listen that Crooked Joe is a mental giant, and in great form, which everyone knows, he is not.”

Biden has been facing political headwinds since a rocky presidential debate performance against Trump last month. The president’s performance raised concerns among those in his party about his age, mental fitness and ability to recapture the White House in November.

Pelosi said Wednesday that it’s Biden’s decision “to decide if he’s going to run” as he has dealt with calls from those in his party to step out of the race.

“It’s up to the president to decide if he is going to run,” Pelosi said on MSNBC. “We’re all encouraging him to make that decision. Because time is running short.

“But he’s beloved, he is respected and people want him to make that decision, not me.”

Biden, for his part, has made it crystal clear he intends to stay in the race, even as the number of Democratic figures calling for him to withdraw is on the rise.

The Hill has reached out to Pelosi’s office.
