The Biden campaign brought in $10 million in donations in the 24 hours after President Biden’s State of the Union address, as Biden continues to build a cash advantage over former President Trump, the likely GOP nominee.

The Biden campaign said Sunday that it was the largest 24-hour haul of the campaign so far. This followed news that February was its best grassroots fundraising month to date.

“We thank our grassroots supporters who are motivated more than ever to reelect President Biden and Vice President Harris,” Biden campaign manager Julie Chávez Rodriguez said in a statement. “The President’s State of the Union address reminded so many of our supporters who is fighting for them, and the stakes of this election for our freedoms, our rights, and our democracy.”

“We send our condolences to the other guy and his flailing, poor campaign,” she added. “Turns out attacking women’s rights, cutting taxes for the rich, and attacking American democracy isn’t exactly a winning message.”

NBC News first reported on the haul.

Biden’s Thursday address to Congress drew overwhelmingly positive reviews from Democrats as the president delivered a fiery speech that frequently took aim at his predecessor’s rhetoric and policies.

The Biden campaign entered 2024 with $117 million on hand after raising more than $97 million in the fourth quarter of 2023. The campaign this week announced a $30 million, six-week advertising spend, which is more spending in six weeks than it did in all of 2023 after the president announced his reelection bid in April.

Trump’s campaign has spent millions of dollars on legal fees over the past year, leaving his operation at a significant cash disadvantage. Trump is expected to clinch the GOP nomination in the coming weeks, allowing him to jointly fundraise with the Republican National Committee (RNC).
