Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake said Tuesday that she will have several “high profile endorsements” soon after a visit to Capitol Hill.

In an interview with NBC News, Lake said in the next couple of days she will receive “really big endorsements” as she continues her campaign against Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.).

Lake, who is endorsed by former President Trump, criticized President Biden and Gallego for ushering “us into very dangerous times” with conflicts abroad and an “economy that is in free fall.”

She argued that Biden and Gallego have caused self-inflicted wounds on America and said she believes it is “going to take common-sense Republicans to get us out of this and that’s they’re rallying behind me.”

“I’m going to have a couple of other really big endorsements coming here in the next couple of days,” Lake continued.

When questioned about who would be endorsing her Senate run, Lake didn’t provide a name, but hinted it is “people who are vying for leadership positions.” Her comments come just a day after she hosted a Washington fundraising event where several top Senate GOP members were in attendance.

Lake, who ran a failed Arizona gubernatorial bid against now-Gov. Katie Hobbs (D) in 2022, made her comments Tuesday after a visit to Capitol Hill after her fundraising event.

Her comments also come after Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) announced earlier in the day that she won’t seek reelection. Sinema’s announcement avoids a three-way contest and largely solidifies the match-up between Gallego and Lake.

Gallego received an endorsement from Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) following Sinema’s announcement, despite Lake’s claim Gallego didn’t have a “single U.S. senator endorsing him.”

In a statement shortly after Sinema’s announcement, Schumer said Democrats are “fully behind [Gallego’s] candidacy.”

A spokesperson for Gallego’s campaign rebuffed Lake’s claims of incoming endorsements.

“Kari Lake can collect all the anti-choice Republican endorsements she wants, but Arizonans know the truth – she’s an extremist who wants to ban abortion without exceptions for rape or incest and continues to undermine our democracy at every turn,” the Gallego campaign said. “She’s dangerous for Arizona – which is why voters will reject her yet again this November.”
