Haley calls out Trump on false claims about New Hampshire primary
Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley called out rival former President Trump for peddling a false claim about the New Hampshire GOP primary happening next week.
Haley bucked the GOP front-runner’s argument on Truth Social Friday that Democrats would be able to vote in the state’s primary.
“Another reason we need to move on from Trump: too many lies,” Haley wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Democrats can’t vote in the NH primary. They haven’t been able to change their registration for months.”
Her response came after the former president made a false claim Friday morning on Truth Social, saying that his rivals “should spend more time keeping Democrats from voting in the Republican Primary — How ridiculous is that?”
“Governor Chris Sununu, the now failing Governor of New Hampshire, where I am beating his endorsed candidate, Nimbra [Nikki Haley], by big numbers, and DeSanctimonious [Ron DeSantis] by even bigger numbers, should spend more time keeping Democrats from voting in the Republican Primary — How ridiculous is that,” Trump wrote. “Anyway, it doesn’t matter, because Nimbra doesn’t have what it takes.”
The former president made a similar claim during a campaign event in New Hampshire, saying that the state’s laws “allow Democrats to vote in the Republican primary.”

In New Hampshire, only Republicans and independents can vote in the GOP primary. Registered Democrats cannot participate in the Granite State Republican primary. The state has a big portion of “undeclared” voters who can choose a ballot Tuesday, when the primary kicks off.
Haley also came for Trump during her appearance on “Fox & Friends,” claiming that he would not debate her because she will call him out for “lying.” Trump skipped all five Republican debates, while Haley recently vowed not to take part in future debates unless the former president shows up.
