Former President Trump said former GOP presidential primary candidate Chris Christie is “desperately searching for a TV job” after he dropped out of the 2024 race earlier this week.

“Chris Christie is ‘kaput,’ strangely deciding to drop out prior to New Hampshire, where he has put in so much time, effort, and money,” Trump posted Friday morning on Truth Social. “I hear he will soon be Endorsing ‘Aida’ Hutchinson, who last week cracked 1% for the first time, before falling back down to Zero. Chris is desperately seeking a TV job, but sadly, no one wants him. ABC FAKE NEWS can get him back for half of what they were paying him. May he rest in peace!”

Christie announced he was dropping out of the GOP race Wednesday, only a few days before the Iowa caucuses.

“It’s clear to me tonight that there isn’t a path for me to win the nomination,” Christie said a a town hall in Windham, N.H.

The former New Jersey governor was a critic of the former president throughout his campaign. During a GOP debate in September, Christie went after the former president for his lack of appearance at the event.

“I want to look at the camera right now and tell you, Donald, I know you’re watching. You can’t help yourself. I know you’re watching, OK? And you’re not here tonight not because of polls and not because of your indictments. You’re not here tonight because you’re afraid of being on this stage and defending your record,” Christie said.

Before he announced the end of his campaign, Christie was caught on a hot mic saying fellow GOP presidential primary candidate Nikki Haley “gonna get smoked” in the race against Trump.

“I mean look, she’s spent like $68 million so far, just on TV — spent $68 million so far — $59 million by DeSantis, and we spent $12 [million]. I mean, who’s punching above their weight and who’s getting a return on their investment, you know?” Christie was heard saying in the audio. “And she’s gonna get smoked. And you and I both know it. She’s not up to this.”
