Haley releases New Hampshire ad featuring Sununu

Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley dropped a new GOP primary ad in New Hampshire Tuesday featuring Gov. Chris Sununu (R), as Haley pushes to challenge former President Trump in the state’s primary.

The ad features Sununu, four-term governor of the Granite State, praising Haley as the best choice in the Jan. 23 GOP primary.

“She’s a leader who builds people up. She’s a ‘Live Free Or Die’ Republican who understands fiscal responsibility and individual liberty,” he says in the ad, referencing the state’s motto. “She’s a new generation of conservative leadership who can help leave behind the chaos and the drama of the past.”

Sununu has become Haley’s loudest surrogate in recent weeks after he officially endorsed her. Haley has risen in New Hampshire polls, becoming the first candidate to come within striking distance of Trump’s primary lead in any early voting state.

“[Sununu’s] endorsement is the latest evidence of Nikki’s growing momentum,” campaign spokesperson Olivia Perez-Cubas said in a statement. “With just 28 days until the New Hampshire primary, Nikki Haley is ready to bring ‘Live Free or Die’ to the White House.”

Despite the momentum, Haley and other GOP primary candidates still trail far behind Trump.

She has about 27 percent support in New Hampshire, compared to Trump’s 44 percent. Haley leads all other GOP candidates, however, with former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie taking 11 percent support and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis holding about 8 percent, according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ average of polls.

Nationally, Trump holds a wider lead. There, Trump has about 65 percent support, trailed by DeSantis at 11 percent and Haley close behind with 10 percent support, according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ average.
