Biden campaign outlines what Trump 2025 would look like ahead of Hannity town hall

The Biden campaign on Tuesday outlined what a second presidency of former President Trump would look like, ahead of Trump’s pre-tapped town hall with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

“Donald Trump will probably spend tonight recounting political vendettas, blaming others for his losses, and praising dictators. While it can be hard to sift through his incoherent and angry rants, it’s not hard to know exactly what a Donald Trump presidency would look like,” said Biden campaign spokesman Kevin Munoz.

In a statement first obtained by The Hill, Munoz outlined the impacts of a Trump presidency on reproductive health, Biden’s top legislation accomplishments, and democracy.

He argued that a Trump second term would include a national abortion ban, although any ban would face still Democratic opposition in Congress. Trump has avoided questions on whether he would sign national restrictions on abortion into law, and argued the six-week abortion ban in Florida that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed was “a terrible thing.”

Munoz said Trump would also repeal the Affordable Care Act and the Inflation Reduction Act, which could endanger “sting conditions like cancer, asthma, and diabetes, and increasing health care costs for millions of Americans, especially seniors.”

Trump last week claimed he was seriously looking at alternatives to the Affordable Care Act, known as ObamaCare, and he has bashed provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act, especially those focused on climate. Republicans have long talked about repealing the popular healthcare program, but have been unable to advance a viable alternative.

And, Munoz said that a second term would mean Trump would be “undercutting and attacking American democracy,” as well as punishing political opponents and undermining election security and integrity.

The Washington Post, The Atlantic and The New York Times each published stories referencing a “Trump dictatorship” in recent days, arguing a new Trump presidency posed a threat to democracy. Trump allies have pushed back on the blaring warnings.

“Believe Donald Trump when he says he’ll do something. Because he will – no matter the cost to the American people,” Munoz said.

The Trump town hall will take place one day before the next Republican presidential primary debate. Trump will not attend the debate, which will be hosted by NewsNation in Alabama. NewsNation and The Hill are both owned by Nexstar Media Group.

The former president instead will hold a private fundraiser in Florida on Wednesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, Biden was in Massachusetts on a fundraising swing that will also include big donor events in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles later this week.

The president told a group of donors earlier on Tuesday that he’s ‘not sure’ he’d run in 2024 if Trump wasn’t in the race.

“We cannot let him win,” Biden added.
