Ramaswamy calls McDaniel claims about him ‘malpractice’

GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy hit back at Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair Ronna McDaniel for claims she made about his voting record Thursday.

McDaniel made comments Thursday in which she dismissed Ramaswamy’s knocks against the Republican Party and personal attacks against her at Wednesday night’s GOP debate. She said the Ohio entrepreneur “needs a headline” to offset low polling and claimed he previously voted for former President Obama.

“I’ve never voted for Obama in my life,” Ramaswamy said on Fox News on Thursday. “So, for a chair of the RNC to be saying that on national television, is malpractice.”

At the third Republican presidential debate Wednesday night in Miami, Ramaswamy said Republicans are a “party of losers” and contended that Republicans have faced disappointing election results under her leadership at the RNC.

“For that matter, Ronna, if you want to come on stage tonight and look the GOP voters in the eye and tell them you resign, I will turn over — yield my time to you,” Ramaswamy said at the debate.

In response, McDaniel said the “RNC doesn’t do state races.”

“We’re a federal committee, so we weren’t involved in those races on Tuesday,” McDaniel said. ”I know Vivek’s kind of newer to the party … so he may not know that.”

The debate followed a successful off-year election day for Democrats the day before. Among the victories for Democrats were Gov. Andy Beshear’s (R-Ky.) reelection and the keeping and flipping, respectively, of the Virginia state Senate and House of Delegates.
