Former President Trump on Wednesday endorsed Sen. Mike Braun (R) in his run for governor of Indiana.

“I was proud to endorse Mike when he ran for the Senate in 2018, and I am proud to do so again — Mike Braun has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Governor of the Great State of Indiana!” Trump said in a Truth Social post

Trump lauded Indiana as “a State I love and won by large margins in 2016 and 2020” and praised Braun’s work in the Senate as “working hard to Support our Law Enforcement, Secure our Borders, and Stop the Woke Fascist Mob trying to destroy our Country.”

Braun thanked Trump for the backing on X, the platform previously known as Twitter. He’s previously expressed gratitude to Trump for helping him to victory in 2018.

After one term in the Senate, Braun is running to replace term-limited Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb (R).

His gubernatorial bid leaves his Senate seat open in 2024, and he’s endorsed Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) to replace him.

Braun has also endorsed Trump, who is running to return to the White House after losing his 2020 reelection bid and is leading the rest of the GOP presidential field heading into 2024.
