Jeffrey Lord: ‘It was an amazing moment and, we all knew, serious history’
As the results came in, Jeffrey Lord — then a CNN contributor, and one of the network’s most outspoken pro-Trump voices — turned to former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.
“I was sitting next to Corey Lewandowski and we looked at each other a little teary-eyed and slapped each other on the back,” Lord says. “Donald Trump was now president-elect, something that both of us had always believed was possible. It was an amazing moment and, we all knew, serious history.”
Lord said CNN host Anderson Cooper congratulated him, too.
“Anderson Cooper, always classy, came over and shook my hand. ‘Congratulations,’ he said. ‘You were right.’”
