John Kerry says in a new interview that he briefly thought about entering the 2016 presidential race, but decided he wanted to remain secretary of State.
“For a minute or two, maybe somewhere along the line, it crossed my mind — possibly,” Kerry told the Boston Globe.
{mosads}“But there are a number of reasons why I dismissed the idea. And I’m glad. I think it was right. I never really thought that seriously about it.”
The 2004 Democratic presidential nominee said, however, that he didn’t have a “serious conversation” about running.
“Mostly because I love this job, and I really said, ‘I want to finish this.'”
