La. rep picked to lead Congressional Black Caucus
Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-La.) has been picked as chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, The Associated Press reported Wednesday.
{mosads}Richmond will begin serving in the position in January.
He follows Rep. G.K. Butterfield (D-N.C.), the current chairman.
Butterfield said Richmond will be a strong leader in the position, according to the AP.
Other members of the CBC’s leadership include Reps. André Carson (D-Ind.), Karen Bass (D-Calif.), Brenda Lawrence (D-Mich.) and Gwen Moore (D-Wis.).
