MoveOn launches video contest to help Obama

Hollywood mainstays Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Steve Buscemi and Oliver Stone are among the celebrity judges selected to crown a winner in a MoveOn.org video contest aimed at helping Sen. Barack Obama’s (D-Ill.) presidential campaign.

{mosads}According to the liberal group, the “Obama in 30 Seconds” contest, which awards a $20,000 gift certificate to the winner, is about “ads that are of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

Affleck said the contest is “a chance for everyone, from aspiring filmmakers to armchair pundits, to raise their voices to put Obama over the top and help make history.”

The winning ad will be aired nationally, the group said.

Also among the celebrity judges will be actor Adrian Grenier, musicians John Legend and Eddie Vedder, Jesse Jackson Sr., music producer Russell Simmons, and Markos Moulitsas, founder of Daily Kos and a columnist for The Hill.
