President Biden has just a 33 percent approval rating in an Iowa poll released Wednesday.
The Des Moines Register-Mediacom Iowa poll shows low support for Biden’s overall job as president and for other issues the president has faced in his first year in office.
Only 33 percent approve of Biden’s overall job as president, down from 47 percent in March in Iowa.
The highest support Biden received was for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic at 41 percent, according to the poll.
Iowa voters gave him a 22 percent approval rating for his handling of Afghanistan, 24 percent for immigration, 28 percent for criminal justice and 32 percent for the economy.
Iowa Republican Sens. Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst enjoy an approval rating higher than Biden, both receiving 45 percent support, the poll showed.
Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds has the highest approval rating at 51 percent.
The low approval rating for Biden follows another recent poll in the state that shows former President Trump leading President Biden in support.
The survey found Trump would receive 51 percent support in Iowa in the 2024 election, while Biden would only get 40 percent support in the state.
Biden says he expects to run in 2024, while Trump has not confirmed his 2024 election plans.
The poll released Wednesday was conducted from Nov. 7 to Nov. 10 and surveyed 810 adults from Iowa. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
