Social media interactions about Trump fall 90 percent since January
Social media interactions about former President Trump have gone down to 91 percent since January, according to data compiled by NewsWhip.
The company found that from Jan. 6 to May 3, social media interactions about the former president dropped dramatically after the end of his second impeachment trial.
Trump still remained a heavy topic after the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol, but interactions have since gradually fallen off.
Trump was banned from Twitter and Facebook after a mob attacked the Capitol on Jan. 6 to interrupt the counting by Congress of the Electoral College results.
On Wednesday, an oversight board set up by Facebook determined that the temporary ban would remain in place, though it said Facebook needed to come up with a final decision.
It said Facebook should develop a “proportionate response that is consistent with the rules that are applied to other users of its platform.”
Data from SocialFlow showed that clicks on Trump stories fell drastically since January, according to a Axios report.
This comes as Trump’s accounts have been banned from various social media platforms for violating policies of those sites.
Recently, Trump has been sending press releases to media outlets as an alternative to his daily social media posts.
