President Biden and other top White House officials will fan out across the country later this week and next week in an effort to educate and persuade the public about his two newest legislative proposals.

Biden will begin traveling after he delivers a speech to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday night in which he will lay out the details of his American Families Plan. That proposal is expected to focus on investments in child care and family care and follows his American Jobs Plan proposal that called for $2.2 trillion in spending on infrastructure.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the publicity blitz will be branded the “Getting America Back on Track” tour. Officials will highlight progress on vaccinations, providing financial help to Americans in need and “fundamentally showing the government can deliver for people,” she added.

Biden will travel to Georgia on Thursday with first lady Jill Biden to hold a drive-in rally marking his 100th day in office. The president will then travel to Pennsylvania on Friday both to tout his legislative proposals and commemorate the 50th anniversary of Amtrak.

Vice President Harris will be in Baltimore on Thursday to tout the administration’s agenda, followed by a trip to Ohio on Friday. Second gentleman Doug Emhoff will visit North Carolina on Friday.

The president will also travel next week, though the exact locations have yet to be announced, and Cabinet officials will also hit the road in the coming days.

The publicity tour mirrors the one the White House launched to highlight the American Rescue Plan, a $1.9 trillion economic relief bill signed into law earlier this year.
