President Trump on Monday fired off a string of tweets calling on his supporters to vote while he continues to receive treatment at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after testing positive for the coronavirus last week.

The president issued a string of more than 15 tweets saying that a vote for him would mean “NEXT YEAR WILL BE THE BEST EVER” while also claiming a vote for Democrats will lead to the “BIGGEST” tax increase the country has ever seen.

“ ‘I’m voting for Donald Trump. My father is a Union Worker and his 401K has tripled under President Trump.’ USA Voter. @foxandfriends Thank you, and remember that the Stock Market is getting ready to break its all time high. NEXT YEAR WILL BE THE BEST EVER. VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!!!!!” Trump wrote in his first tweet on early in the morning.

“IF YOU WANT A MASSIVE TAX INCREASE, THE BIGGEST IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY (AND ONE THAT WILL SHUT OUR ECONOMY AND JOBS DOWN), VOTE DEMOCRAT!!!” he continued.

Trump also sounded off on a number of other issues with a number of individual messages like “PRO LIFE! VOTE,” “SPACE FORCE. VOTE,” “LAW & ORDER. VOTE,” “STRONGEST EVER MILITARY. VOTE,” “BIGGEST TAX CUT EVER, AND ANOTHER ONE COMING. VOTE,” “RELIGIOUS LIBERTY. VOTE,” and “SAVE OUR SECOND AMENDMENT. VOTE!”

Trump’s tax cuts have been a sticking point for Democrats in recent weeks as they have backed away on talk of rolling back the measures. Senate Democrats have also said they’ll likely put stand-alone tax legislation on the back burner if Democratic nominee Joe Biden wins the White House and the party controls both chambers of Congress.

Biden in August said that he will only raise taxes “for anybody making over $400,000,” adding then that “no new taxes” will be raised for those who earn less than that threshold.

He also said he wouldn’t raise taxes on the “90 percent of the businesses that are mom and pop businesses that employ less than 50 people.”

Trump was admitted to Walter Reed on Friday after he confirmed he and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19.

The diagnosis comes as the president has faced fierce criticism for downplaying the threat of the disease to the United States earlier this year. Johns Hopkins University data shows there are more than 7.4 million coronavirus cases in the United States and over 209,000 deaths so far.

President Trump has also mocked Biden for wearing a face mask in recent weeks and the former vice president’s campaign for abiding by social distancing guidelines amid the ongoing pandemic.

The president’s pitch to voters on Monday also comes as a recent Reuters-Ipsos poll showed Biden expanding his lead over the president by 10 points following the coronavirus diagnosis.
