President Trump will travel to India later this month for the first time since taking office to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The White House announced Monday that the president and first lady Melania Trump will visit the subcontinent Feb. 24-25.

“During a phone call over the weekend, President Trump and Prime Minister Modi agreed the trip will further strengthen the United States-India strategic partnership and highlight the strong and enduring bonds between the American and Indian people,” press secretary Stephanie Grisham said.

The two leaders are likely to discuss and potentially finalize a bilateral trade deal during Trump’s visit.

The president and first lady will travel to the capital, New Delhi, and Ahmedabad, Modi’s home state, which played a central role in Mahatma Ghandi’s life.

Modi visited the U.S. in September for an event with Trump called “Howdy, Modi,” a rally that drew tens of thousands of people to NRG Stadium in Houston.

Trump has visited Vietnam, the Philippines, China and Japan, among other Asian countries. But he has not yet visited India.

The visit will mark Trump’s second international trip of 2020 following his attendance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. It will be his first time abroad since the Senate acquitted him on two articles of impeachment last week.
