Trump predicts Ocasio-Cortez will launch primary bid against Schumer
President Trump predicted Monday that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) would primary Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) “and win” because of how “badly” the Democrats handled his impeachment.
Trump also claimed that House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) has a “good chance” of losing to his primary opponent in New York’s 10th Congressional District and that Republicans would take back the House of Representatives in the November elections because of impeachment, which he described in familiar terms as a “hoax.”
“It is all getting quite interesting. [Speaker Nancy] Pelosi will lose the House, AGAIN! My poll numbers great,” Trump tweeted Monday morning.
Because of how badly they did with the Impeachment Hoax, AOC will primary Cryin’ Chuck Schumer, and win, and Jerry Nadler has a good chance of losing to his far left primary opponent! It is all getting quite interesting. Pelosi will lose the House, AGAIN! My poll numbers great.

Trump made a similar claim about Ocasio-Cortez at a lunch with television anchors before the State of the Union last week, according to Fox News’s Bret Baier.
Nadler, who has represented his New York district since 2013, faces a number of primary opponents, including Lindsey Boylan, a former state official.
Representatives for Ocasio-Cortez, Schumer and Nadler did not immediately return requests for comment.
Trump has used the last several days to take a victory lap following his Wednesday acquittal by the GOP-controlled Senate in his impeachment trial, a result that had been expected for months.
Trump has spent time attacking those who supported his impeachment, including Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), the lone Republican to join Democrats in voting in favor of removing Trump from office over the charge he abused his power by pressuring Ukraine to pursue investigations into his political rivals.
The president has also taken aim at Democrats, accusing them of a partisan effort to remove him from office while celebrating his acquittal and recent poll numbers as evidence that the decision to impeach him has backfired on his opponents.
