Pence to make swing through New Hampshire on eve of primary
Vice President Pence will travel to New Hampshire on Monday, the day before the state’s primary election.
The White House announced Friday that Pence will be participating in a bus tour from Portsmouth and ending in Manchester, N.H.
In Portsmouth, he will attend a “Cops for Trump” event and he will then join President Trump at his Keep America Great Rally in Manchester.
On Thursday, Second Lady Karen Pence visited Nashua, N.H., where she told supporters “this is going to be a close race,” referring to the November general election.
Democratic presidential candidates are also barnstorming through New Hampshire ahead of the primary on Tuesday. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) currently leads most polls, though South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg got a major boost after virtually tying Sanders in this week’s caucuses in Iowa, which were marred by inconsistencies in reporting that have cast doubt on the results.
Trump is not expected to face a significant primary challenge. Former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) ended his primary bid against Trump on Friday, leaving former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld as the only Republican primary challenger.
