President Trump will host the Washington Nationals at the White House on Monday after the team won its first World Series in franchise history earlier this week.

White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere announced the plans on Twitter.

The Nationals defeated the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday night, securing the franchise’s first-ever championship. The team is set to celebrate with a parade in D.C. on Saturday.

{mosads}Trump congratulated the Nationals on Twitter for their “great season” and an “incredible World Series” following their victory.

Trump made a rare public appearance at Game 5 of the series in Washington on Sunday night, with a number of Republican lawmakers. Some in the crowd booed the president, who was also confronted with chants of “lock him up.”

Trump has hosted a number of professional and college sports teams throughout his term, as part of a long tradition of championship squads visiting the White House. But the tradition has become more politically fraught under Trump, and a number of athletes have declined to attend while some have seen their invitations rescinded.

Trump hosted the Boston Red Sox, the last World Series champions, at the White House this past May. Some of the team’s players skipped the trip, though Trump largely steered clear of politics during the meeting.
