President Trump will speak at a GOP House retreat in Baltimore this week, visiting the city just weeks after he repeatedly derided it and suggested “no human being would want to live there.”

The president will travel to Baltimore following a meeting with the Amir of Kuwait, according to the White House.
It will mark Trump’s first time in Baltimore since he unleashed days of attacks in late July and early August on the city and its congressman, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.).
In a slew of tweets, Trump described Baltimore — a majority-black city — as a “very dangerous & filthy place” where “no human being would want to live.”
He went on to call Cummings — the son of South Carolina sharecroppers — a “racist.”
“As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded,” Trump tweeted. “Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place.”
The president repeatedly doubled down on his remarks, suggesting that federal money for Baltimore had been mishandled and slamming Cummings for his work as chairman of the House Oversight Committee.
