Trump calls Scaramucci a ‘nut job’ who ‘wheedled his way into my campaign’
President Trump is lashing out yet again at former White House aide Anthony Scaramucci, calling him a “nut job” that he “barely knew” Monday on Twitter.
Trump sought to distance himself from Scaramucci, who briefly served as his White House communications director and was a longtime surrogate on television.
Scaramucci has more recently criticized Trump, which the president has responded to with scorched-earth tactics.
{mosads}“Anthony Scaramucci is a highly unstable ‘nut job’ who was with other candidates in the primary who got shellacked, & then unfortunately wheedled his way into my campaign. I barely knew him until his 11 days of gross incompetence-made a fool of himself, bad on TV. Abused staff … got fired. Wrote a very nice book about me just recently. Now the book is a lie?” Trump tweeted Monday.
Scaramucci wrote a favorable book about Trump’s rise to the presidency that was published in October 2018.
“Said his wife was driving him crazy, ‘something big’ was happening with her,” Trump continued with his tweet. “Getting divorced. He was a mental wreck. We didn’t want him around. Now Fake News puts him on like he was my buddy!”

Scaramucci recently called Trump racist and “completely unstable.”
“He’s gone off the rails,” Scaramucci said of Trump in an interview with Fox News. “He’s acting in a way that’s completely unstable.”
He also said that the left should create an “off-ramp” for those who agree with his criticism of Trump, which he said includes many people in the White House and on Capitol Hill.
“When you’re trying to deprogram people from a cult, one of the first things you have to do is allow them to change their mind, and you have to allow them to have the space to change their mind,” Scaramucci said.
Trump has pushed back on Scaramucci’s recent criticism, distancing himself from the White House staffer he employed, saying he was “incapable” of the job.
